In case there appears to be something that is not normal, then some hacking might possibly be taking place and necessary steps should be taken to avert a possible danger.Attacks on e-commerce websites have actually have been a serious headache to many online businesses due to the serious losses that they have been suffering. However, they can be mitigated in several ways such as carrying out a risk assessment of the business. If possible, it should be done before the implementation of the technical controls in order to do away with the weaknesses before expensive adjustments are required (Buchanan, 2004).

It can also be mitigated by developing security standards. The security policy should be communicated to the workers so that they can better comprehend their responsibilities, the consequences for any violations, and the steps that they should take if they see any suspicious activities online. Another way of preventing the risk is by consulting the internet service provider. This should be done to see if it can be blocked before reaching the systems of the company.
