German produces advanced machinery and has for a long time enjoyed a reputation for industrial excellence and success in exportation. Germany machinery development can be attributed to its industrial success and the various forms of inter firm collaboration between SMEs. However, the machinery industry entered a period of virtual crisis in the early 1990s; this made German experience stagnant sales and faced competition from foreign firms. The decline of cooperation with other regions, loss of domestic sales, high costs of wages and other benefits for employees in the machinery industry contributed to the crisis in German. This paper shall discuss the key developments in the German machinery. The paper shall also analyze the diversification of technological development with reference to the Roman and Egyptian technology. Knowledge in Mechanical manufacturing has given German an upper hand in product exports in the international market thus boosting its economy. Mechanical manufacturing is the largest and most influential industry in German. Other key industries include the chemical and car manufacturing industry. Engineers in German have acquired an outstanding reputation for having practical backgrounds than those from their counterparts. The German machinery development did not exist through a vacuum. The development of machinery in German would be initiated through its environment, which favors the technical training at all levels. The German universities have obtained a stellar status. Their education has close ties to the industrial sector. Companies regularly extend internships and apprenticeships even to the high school students. The upcoming engineering technicians and grads have chances to begin careers with an intimate comprehension of their business companies. The companies initiate the programs for career development so that the employees hired in future become productive. Such programs breed loyalty and stability, especially in communities where firms of engineering get established. The establishment of engineering courses provides trainees with proper knowledge on developing machines. There are a number of essentials underlying engineering in German. I. The German exports encompass mechanical engineering products as compared to other countries. II. As reported last year, over 20 percent of all exported machinery in the global sector came from German. III. In the past two years, the German machinery makers increased to approximately 50,000 employees. The country expects the number to increase in the coming years. IV. Over the last decades, the number of German’s mechanical engineers continues to double. V. This field practically and directly deals with industrial technologies. The established institutes also offer automation technology. Through skills and knowledge acquired in various fields of engineering, the equipment and machinery sector in German has continued to flourish in the economic center of Europe (Polland 25). The machinery development sectors are one of the motors of technology that continues to drive German as a nation of high-tech. It combines every key for potential technologies including software, robotics materials, and electronics. The industry of machinery and equipment in German gets strengthened by a combination of German’s approved engineering traditions. This makes it a highly diversified base. The machinery sector in German remains powerful in Europe for it has experienced growth in the past years with a percentage of approximately 56 during 2003-2008. As a result of the economic down turn and financial crisis of 2009, the annual turnover for the industry went down by approximately 20 percent. Nevertheless, an actual 2010 7.5 percent increment would be more than twice the growth forecast. In 2011, the forecast would be 14 %. In relation to the German’s counterparts, it remains the export leader of the global machinery with approximately 19.1 percent. The patents issued during the period 2009 would be structured in processing and handling and general technology and vehicles sectors. German alone received one third of these patents. Egypt and Rome have undergone some technological changes over the years. The printing press machine was the first to be developed in the Roman Empire. A printing press refers to a device used for applying force to an inked material resting on a print medium. The medium can be cloth or paper. The machine would be typically used for texts. It has become the most influential invention which has ushered in revolution and a period of modernity. The German engineers have developed the use of machinery over continents. For instance, the printing press would be initially used by Johannes Gutenberg in the Holy Roman Empire. Gutenberg was a German who developed the system of the printing press. This system perfected the process of printing throughout its stages. It adapted the existing technologies of printing within the Holy Roman Empire. He also came up with the ground breaking inventions. His novel devised hand mould enhanced the rapid and precise creation of movable types of metal in large quantities. Its key element involved the profitability within the whole printing enterprise. The bookmaking mechanization enhanced the foremost mass production of books within history in the style of assembly line. From a solitary point of origin, the German, Mainz, printing stretched all over the cities in the European countries over several decades. The paper production mechanization would be developed in both Egypt and the Roman Empire. This was as a result of development of machines which initiated the manufacturing process. It involved the use of chemicals in which most would be imported from German. The Roman and Egyptian technology has grown to superior heights whereby many folks from these nations have advanced their training in technology. Many have schooled in German institutes of technology. They acquire knowledge in the engineering field where they design various machines. This has created the automotive industries within Rome and Egypt. In connection with German, Egypt has established advanced plastic industries in the recent past. The country has succeeded in exporting the products mainly to Middle East, European Union and African countries. The world’s top brands of equipment and machinery get utilized in most of the plastic processing factories in Egypt (Lucas 56). The development of machines such as the steam power engines has facilitated the manufacturing processes in the automated factories, in Rome and Egypt. The textile industries within Egypt and Rome have applied the cotton spinning machines in their industries over the decades. All these inventions have facilitated industrial revolution within countries and enriched the overall technology globally. In conclusion, the paper has provided an overview on the German machinery development with a critical emphasis on how technology has become diversified over years.
