? Usage of IT Tools in Organization The paper portraits how various organizations have attained par excellence by using IT tools. It is not that only MNCs have benefitted by the tools rendered by technology but also the business organizations that are competing to hit the market. A deep research on how various organizations have used multiple strategies and have also made critical decisions on which strategy applies the most to meet each company’s business goals. When business goals lead to major decision making it is also seen that companies take initiatives to make the environment friendly to a major extend and it has been illustrated in the paper. In the current world, the use of Information technology has become the need of hour for all the organizations. The usage of IT differs for various organizations, depending on their needs. Most organizations though, try to implement the best and the most advanced technology available to ease the usability for their customers and attract them. Usage of best IT tools gives Organization and edge over its competitors. This paper shall highlight the organizations which use the best IT tools available to gain a competitive edge in the market. Outsourcing has become a predominant trend where a bigger organization signs a contract with any trusted and efficient other organization to reduce the cost of labor and the internal work is contracted out to the business partner. Organizations such as Farmers Insurance and Travellers Insurance recently have benefited on a major part with the technique of outsourcing their IT and BPO sector. These successful companies seemed to have partitioned core processes and other back-end processes that are of least importance for outsourcing. Organizations have moved beyond initial stages of outsourcing only the back-end processes and     they have adopted outsourcing the core development which produced a statistics report of 40% increment in productivity and high efficiency in cost of labor.     On a contrary, companies like CCC Information services insource or import people as a solution to reduce the incurring cost that are at a hidden level. This finds a way to control a company’s taxes and decisions on outsourcing and insourcing are made based on the business goals of each company. On the analysis made, it is found that the manufacturing companies prefer more of insourcing labors from china or from remote areas in the north where employment is less.     Companies can make a straightforward decision to choose insourcing or the other depending on the business requirement. It is also clear that insourcing requires a lot of effort and manpower to train a team and match them to the skill set in a short period of time but on a large duration inclusive of the cutting down cost on labor, and then this is a best way adopted by companies to enhance their profit and productivity. In outsourcing, we get a more powerful and skilled team in a short period. This was considered more expensive and used by larger organizations earlier. Rapid growth of the IT industries such as TCS, CTS, Accenture and IBM is mainly due to migration of industries from undertaking the core process all by themselves with less manpower and resources to distributing the process among few trusted partners which is less time consuming and effective availability of resources. At a reduced cost, work can be smartly insourced too. It is found that companies with major growth and productivity have adopted these strategies only after a thorough analysis of which organization or people should be insourced or outsourced.     Organizations such as Rackspace have started building their own cloud spaces where they can share secure data and make it private. The traditional approach of disk spaces has been removed from the stage and the big picture is all about web. Most of the data and information that organizations use are through web. They emerge obtaining permissions and spaces from providers with such cloud options to make their organizational data much more secure and less risk prone. Go Green, another initiative by Cognizant technology solutions has lead to the initiation of Green computing. This involves getting rid of the unwanted materials and products which consume lot of unwanted electricity and power. Cognizant technology solutions have come up with initiatives where IT operations impact less on the environment. The usage of bio products to produce energy has helped in saving a lot of diesel in the country. They have also ensured that there is minimal pollution in doing so which has prevented them from polluting the environment lesser. Another initiative which this organization has come up is reducing the usage of paper cups. The usage of paper cups by the associates has been reduced by encouraging them to use their own cups so as to reduce the usage of use and throw cups. Organizational strategy is one another important tool which organizations use to gain better productivity. Cognizant technology solutions have used a tool named Cognizant2.0 which is used by them to track all the efforts of the associates across the globe. With this, they can track various levels of efforts from all the associates. This helps them to keep track of the efforts which are being spent across different projects. Such a strategy enables the organization to find loop holes if any in any of the projects carried out across various teams. Innovation is the need of the hour. Customers are now looking for value-adds from the organizations. Every organization is able to provide service, support, development and consultancy to the customer. But what stands out is innovation which the organization is able to provide. Quick, smart and innovative solutions are the need of the hour. Infosys has come up with various innovative solutions which enables the customer to monitor their server where the application is resided without the use of any other tool. This tool has made life easier for the customers where in they can view their server stats with the help of just one click. Such innovations indeed bring an edge over the rivals where organizations provide value add to the customer for what they pay. Organizations such as Cognizant technology solutions have initiated various service level models which are attracting customers to them. They have recently initiated a strategy, vision 2015 which they are aiming to be a tier I organization. With impressive revenue growth every quarter, this organization certainly has a competitive edge over the others. Web is an effective mode for maintaining the information and making it private among the organization. As an initiative to secure information, intranet was widely utilized before the concept of cloud came into picture. Most of the organizations use this as their most effective strategy to depict their services and offerings. Right from mobile phone applications to middleware engineering, most of the offerings are depicted via the web. The customers can then have a quick look at the organization services and contact them based on their requirements. Another way of enhancing collaboration using web is via social networking, blogging and twitter. With the ever increasing craze of social networking, people are getting more and more aware about the world. Getting the website more and more hits over the internet makes it top the search engine.
